Erst vor wenigen Jahren entdeckte man eine alte Gruft aus dem 5. Jhd., in der man unter Anderem eine goldene Totenmaske fand. Offenbar gab es schon damals an diesem Ort eine Hochkultur. Am oestlichen Seeufer entdeckte ein Taucher sogar eine praehistorische Pfahlsiedlung, die aus der spaeten Bronze- und der fruehen Eisenzeit stammt, was in etwa das 12.-7. Jhd. v.
